BELIEF

Everything you will achieve does not start with what you can do, it starts with what you believe!

A belief is an attitude that something is the case, or that some proposition about the world is true.

For things to get better in your life you must first have belief that better is possible.

Picture a large puzzle, each piece has a unique shape. The central piece of the puzzle has a intricate design, shape, and colour. It has a specific place and purpose for where it is supposed to fit in to the bigger picture. But it is wandering all over the puzzle trying to fit in in where it thinks it could, should and ought to. It gets bent out of shape trying to fit in, but it’s not in the right place, so it doesn’t fit comfortably. None of the other puzzle pieces around it are fitting either, because they need this one to find its rightful role and position, so they can too. All this trying to fit in smashes our self belief!

So many people are like this puzzle piece, trying to find out where they fit
in. Like a uniquely designed puzzle piece, that has a specific place and purpose, you too are specifically designed, your shape, style, your purpose and where you fit into the bigger picture.

You need to discover what ‘place and style’ you are!

Self-belief is key to overcoming life’s many challenges, helping us to learn, succeed and grow. The first time I was confronted with where I was at, was when I had to overcome my fears. Could I make it as an emcee? Whenever we face difficult or stressful situations, be it physical or emotional, music career or relationship related, our mindset is key to the outcome. When I started my journey in music, if I gave up the minute I saw an obstacle in my path I would have never made it to first base much less establish myself as a UK hip hop pioneer. Why would I throw myself down in front of any obstacle when it’s possible to overcome it.

When all you hear is you can’t, you can’t be successful, you can’t be happy, find love or survive loss. When your thoughts say you can’t fulfil your potential or be good enough to find happiness. When your mind never tells you you can, nor even offers you hope that you will eventually find a way you need to think about a reset. If you want to climb large obstacles you need to equip yourself with the right equipment and develop the necessary skill set to overcome. We all have the physical, emotional and intellectual abilities to fulfil our potential. Obstacles are only challenges for us to overcome, and failure is a learning experience that can drive us forward to try harder, rather than as an excuse to surrender and be proof of inadequacy.

You will never see a parent tell a child to give up after it falls down when trying to walk.

When we accomplish our goals and overcome setbacks, our self-esteem and self-confidence increase, which in turn acts as a catalyst for setting ambitious goals and striving harder, creating a force that drives us towards our dreams. Lacking belief suffocates potential, ambition, determination, motivation and personal development. It shackles us to the side-lines, and, because we don’t trust ourselves to succeed we remain as spectators. Your inner voice is on a repetitive loop, telling you that you can’t, so what’s the point.

To develop belief in yourself and find your purpose takes one small step after another.

Any achievement, no matter how small is to be celebrated. Each time you complete a small goal you are teaching yourself that you can, and giving yourself something to draw on when you next face a new challenge. Instead of thinking “I’ve never done this before, I’m going to fail,” you’ll be able to look through your past experiences and think “I managed that, so I should be able to do this”.

Win in your mind first.

Replace the negative thoughts with positive. The law of substitution teaches us that the conscious mind can only hold one thought at a
time : Positive or Negative. Using the Law of Control, you can choose
to deliberately substitute a negative thought for a positive thought. This Law applies to everything success , personal accomplishment, spiritual growth, happiness, financial freedom, health, relationships.

Your Thoughts are the foundational CAUSE of everything in your life and resulting outcomes or conditions are the EFFECTS!

It’s not what happens to you, but how you think about what happens to you. It’s not the world outside of you its the world inside of you that creates the conditions of your life. It’s the way you think that determines your life. The Law of Control says that we feel good about ourselves to the degree to which we feel we are in control of our lives. All personal control begins with taking control of the thoughts we hold in our conscious minds. Decide the person you want to be, and the situation you want to be in, and focus only on this.
